Second Workshop

  • Computing Centre of Al-Khawarizmi (CCK), Tunisia,
    From October 24 to October 31, 2025.

The project team came together on 24 October 2025 to Tunisia following the arrival of all partner institutions. Participants included representatives from the Institute of Oriental Studies Leipzig, the Higher Institute of Human Sciences in Medenine, the Institute of Human Sciences in Tunis, and the Center for Algorithmic Computing. This meeting formed part of the ongoing coordination process aimed at advancing the project objectives that had been jointly defined during the initial meeting in Leipzig in April 2025.

The workshop program officially commenced on 25 October 2025 with an introductory session hosted by the Higher Institute of Human Sciences in Tunis. During this session, the working groups presented their preliminary findings, which were subsequently subjected to collective discussion, critical assessment, and academic review. The feedback and recommendations generated during these discussions were incorporated in order to refine the results and to prepare for the subsequent phase of the project.

On 26 October 2025, the activities continued at the Al-Khawarizmi Computing Center (CCK), where the focus shifted toward an in-depth examination of the feedback and the enhancement of the overall quality and coherence of the work. Over the following two days, the groups pursued their tasks independently under the supervision of the academic staff, within a well-structured and continuous working framework.

In parallel with the academic program, the week included a series of cultural activities designed to enrich the participants’ experience. These activities comprised a guided visit to the historic medina and its major landmarks, most notably the Zitouna Mosque, as well as a cultural excursion to Sidi Bou Said, a city widely recognized for its distinctive architectural character and cultural heritage.

The week concluded with a final presentation that reviewed the achieved outcomes and outlined the main areas of future activities, in line with the project’s objectives. This concluding session not only reinforced collaboration among the participants but also offered a comprehensive academic and cultural experience that contributed significantly to the project’s progress.
